Ben Ware

Biog

Ben Ware is a philosopher and social theorist based in London, UK.

He is Co-Director of the Centre for Philosophy and Art at King’s College London, where he is also a Senior Research Fellow in Philosophy. He also serves on the faculty at the Bombay Institute for Critical Analysis and Research (‘BICAR’).

His books include On Extinction: Beginning Again at the End (Verso, 2024); Living Wrong Life Rightly (Palgrave Macmillan, 2017); and Dialectic of the Ladder: Wittgenstein, the ‘Tractatus’ and Modernism (Bloomsbury, 2015). He is also the editor of Bacon Disfigured (Thames & Hudson, 2026) and Francis Bacon: Painting, Philosophy, Psychoanalysis (Thames & Hudson, 2019), both produced with the Estate of Francis Bacon.

His writing has appeared in e-flux, the Los Angeles Review of Books, TANK and Lit Hub, among others. His forthcoming book explores the politics and moral psychology of Coldness.
